2007

1. bike riding lesson, each turn is set up by a counter turn
2. hope inspires people more than fear, proof is human behaviour, animals are just as much by driven their desire to mate than by their desire to avoid death2007

how to continue orgainzing, despite the odds, and win --- inconsequentally.

1. you dont climb to get to the top... right? you dream of an endless climb. would you continue climbing if you knew you would never reach the top of any pf the climbs you got on? yes. wnad why is that? b/c you dream of an endless climb. you love the climbing, not the end of the climb. why would you stop organizing if you knew you would never reach the 'top?' in other words, why stop/ cease to start/ even consider ceasing to organize when the odds are so seemingly stacked against you that it seems futile and almost a certainty that you wont suceed. i never wanted to suceed in climbing in the sense of standing at the top, i loved the climb, it wanted it to continue forever. so i dont care what the prospects of a sucessful outing of my interest happen to be, i care only in the pleasure brought to me in the process of its doing.
---ask what do you like to do, and the answer you get is that people like to do processes, they wont mention the results--they'll say running. not winning marathons; or biking, not winning bike races; or walking, not "getting myself to my destination." we love processes. we fear overwhelming situations/odds.

2. hitting the bulls eye comes from doing every step correctly. concentrate on the odds of hitting it and you miss, concentrate on the results of hitting it--victory etc.. and you'll miss. concentrate on the small steps and execute them flawlessly and unless someone moves the target, you can walk away without looking, knowing that the arrow is in the bull's eye.
so focus on the process, on the steps involved in the process and not on the results and you win. the moment in the process in which you redirect your focus from the process to the result you fail to execute that step of the prcess and you can rest assured the goal is surely lost. focus on the proces and win.

believe in what you do, do what you believe in--despite the odds. let love connect you to steps of the process, do what you love. stay in the process (stay in love). accept victory with humilty.

if you went to a doctor and were told that you had liver failure and that you weren't well would you think you would feel better by going to another doctor? ok say you go to another and they say that yes you do have liver failure and so that previous doc was right, plus this one says you also have kidney fialure. woulkd you expect relief from another doc? no right? then why continue burying yourself in news? why read more and more, are you expecting that after a certain amount you will feel better? what make you fell better is soemthing that reverses or alleviates your illnesses. something that brings them helath. say its a correct diet, or some form of exercise. that is what is going to make you feel better, not more of what makes you feel worse. what makes us fell better whnen we get down after reeading the paper? action to counter those feelings. action to allieveate the pain. that is what organizing is. it is our medicine for what demoralizes us when we read the newspaper. it is the medicine on the shelf, the kemotherapy for the cancerous speial interest driven tumors attacking our dmeocracy. ----the mind set which created our problems cant be the mindset that is able to undo them with solutions. --keep thinknig like this.

Edit
walk out of you front door and turn right, walk up to your neighbors door and knock. when they answer tell them your name and give them your address. you'll notice you're neighbors. tell them this:
this is the rap sheet as the first step to address...

tell them your name and that you live next door. and you wanted to come over and introduce yourself to them.
you dont have to say:
that you feel lonely beacuse your family is spread all over the country because they had to follow their job (because they needed to have some stuff in order to be happy) that you feel lonley because your friends are the people you work with and they live all over the city that you are worn down by all the fighting in the world conservative, liberal, insurgent, terrorist, minority, majority, oppressed, oppressor, occupying force, liberating force, etc, etc, etc,... that you think the only chance we have for the survival of any human dignity in the face of such gathering corporate power is for human beings to care about each other and see that our similarities are greater than what a modern corporate culture advertises/tells us our differences areyou are scared that it may have taken you too long to realize what you knew as a child, that the size and number of things in life cant make you happy, its the people who matter because they can give you acceptance, friendship, and love
that you dont have the solution but with each days' turning away from those less fortunate, or forced detachment and feigned indifference you feel the solutions dying inside you you are down to your last hope but you think it might just be simple enough to work beautifuly --that is, happiness could come to everyone in the world with one action... if the those with too many things gave some to those with too few. you are think life might just be so simple that
child rules are right, contracdiction...
youre are being left with less and less know the solutions but you feel that with each passing day of not something inside you is dyingr parents taught you as a child was simple and correct, it almost, alomst took th best years of your life to took you years and years you've noticed that your smile appears less and less that in the world right now there is exactly enough to make everyone happy

from untwister 2006-climate changing

when climate change crashes planes into buildings and no amount of $$ from exxon and co can spin the damage we've caused we'll need to act together to keep life for eveyone on the planet not completely filled with horror.

today we have not wars over lack of resources, dont be misled. dont be lazy. we have wars over lack of profits. there is enough for all, if all took just enough. the suffering happens beacuse some want more, extra.

when we begin paying the price for passivity we and our children will feel those wars.
gone will be the anesthesia of ignorance and dulled feeling that excess brings.

imagine when the climate changes we brought on our selves leave us all with not enough, nevermind "extra." imagine the self righteousness of those accustomed to extra and the wars that will be waged when ironically finally we'll be able to say we’re not fighting for more, we’re fighting for just enough.

nope, when we war over access to clean water, farmable lands, and unflooded homes no one keeps their humanity, literally.

unlike wars for "safety," no one keeps their humanity in wars over .
, food, no one wins with both winner and loser hurt we'll see and feel in those wars over

we will fell those because one thing
comes with response uncaring that accompanies/follows that apparently comforts half of this country
we have enough oil, some just want more to outfit everyone with a hummer H2.
novicane
while others profited and we paid
wars them will turn awful. if the lies of these elite allow so many to find room on the blade of morality on which to stand while an invasion of two countries is carried out in the name of their protection --- i dont not forsee any hesitation on their parts purchase on the blade of morality are able to so many are able

if the truth is a bright light and the govts feeble cover of it in order to carry out a war with alaunches a war to
their name the number of innocent lives ended to avenge the loss of 3000 innocent world trade workers is approaches even the slightest shade

from untwister 2006-pushed

pushed from within, that's what they'd say
so many angles to push from
looking at the problem from outside and being pushed from within, where do you apply the force
creating a vector... force and a direction. create a VECTOR.
not just the pushed from within, that'll eat you up for sure
pushed up mountains, pushed up rivers, pushed up academic towers, pushed big rings.
understand where we are currently moving,
understand the consequences of our vector,
understand how it needs to move,
understand the direction of how it needs to move,
understand the direction of how best to get it to move.
---how have they gotten it to move?
in other words learn the code and then you'll understand how they have been able to move people. how have they been able to ove people?
they have taken the best, deepest beliefs we hold about ourselves and used them to move us.
what will it take to move us?

where are we now? people want a better quality of life. they believe they will find that with the accumulation of more material objects. --it doesnt matter where people are, sell them on a vison and you put them on the map. ie... when we were running out of gasoline they were buying record numbers of SUVs---so give them a vision---powerful, dominant, significant, envied (not matter if your not well liked you will be respected!!) comes with the purchase of
a YUKON from Chevy. so sell thm they're life is lacking fundamental compents of a quality existence and sell the on how to complete the missing components and they will right?

from untwister 2006-

idea that we are one part lazy and one part human, so we recognize our mortality and want to rise above it, leave a mark in this life, yet we dont really question too much the existing brands that advertise themselves as capable of taking us there. so many people join the military to be all they can be, literally, but never joined it b/c they thought we were in danger, or wanted to be soldiers so much as knew that org to be one that pushed them beyond, pushed them to be something more than they presently were, pushed them to find exactly how far they could go, how 'big/super/non-regular' they could be. we need that for good causes today. for the environment, for social justice, etc.

from untwister 2006-trick and treat

how do you reconcile it. what you're taught as a child, what you teach children and what you see everyday in life. what you learned it takes to notice and appreciate the simplicity and inate beauty in every act of nature with the insensitivity, withdrawn, make-no-eye-contact, don't stare, dont look because you might not be dead enough to surpress that instinct to care.

its halloween in the city.
parties until 4, costums cut from the poor.
dressed up and drunk, we're here- lock the laptop in the trunk.
how do you find reason to party when your brother sleeps in the street?

but then if you dont make time to live, you find less friends.
then left alone with your thoughts of how did i ever get here?
I dont remember ever getting here because everything I know has a progression.
water doesnt boil without hitting 211 degrees, paper wont combust unless it heats beyond 450 degreess.
progession.
so how did i get here. I dont remember the digression. I can tell you one thing, I wouldnt have gone. for sure i would have held my brother and sister too tightly to let them slip away. the instinct for physical life tells us to avoid those who slip away. the instinct for spiritual life tells us to reach deeply for those slipping.

who's to blame, who gets indicted?
is it yin and yang, is it yin or ist it yang. is it no one becasue all is yin and yang. there can be no yin without a yang. the yin defines the yang.
sure light and darkness go hand in hand. ones absence defines the other, and vice versa. light cnt exist without the existence of darkness.

but,
in the wild the darkness doesnt seem so without light as it does on the sidewalk behind capp and 16th. maybe its because we dont speak tose languages, we're not fluent. the only one we do know is ours, so it is the only one in which we see/ hear/feel/sense/touch the tension of the walk between avoiding the slip and reaching for the slipped. maybe if we did speak those languages we'd see its equally as tense, life and death, light and dark.

but again,
what sets us apart, though. we have enough control to relieve the suffering of all of ours. no slipping. whereas, tit mice don't have a Federal Emergency Management Agency, that waits 14 days to remove a black dead body from the 9th ward. nor do they buy halloween clothes from where the poor cant afford to shop.
progression. digression.

you learn to live in the wild. you learn to die in the city. Trick and treat.

losing what i never had

why it hurt. it hurt b/c i had lost a love recently. it hurt to think i was losing amy. i dont have her, i have the hope that we would have something together. that is it, that is what hurt to feel was being lost. i t hurt also b/c i had pushed it, it hurt to feel that i had wanted it so badly. i really want to have company and that scares me. it drove that action. i wasnt too patient, i was instead persistent. losing what i never had. do i hurt when i think of losing steph. yes. i do /did. i cant do anything about it now, she has the decision to make. i hurt a lot when she left and now i dont
